Day 3. We arrived in Hong Kong, met our tour group and were bused to our hotel, the "Marco Polo Hong Kong Hotel". Viki King, our Vantage Tour Manager, briefed the group on the daily activities and took the group on a walking tour of the local neighborhood. SLIDE SHOW

Day 4. This morning we took a tour of Hong Kong Island which included a drive to Victoria Park, Aberdeen and the Stanley Market. We took a Sampan ride in Aberdeen. The day concluded with an Evening Cocktail Harbor Cruise. SLIDE SHOW

Day 5. This was a day of leisure with no planned activities. A few of the group took an optional trip to Marco. Peggy and I did a little "Shopping and Rode the Ferry" across the river and back. SLIDE SHOW

Day 6. We packed our bags, boarded the bus for a tour of the Kowloon area. We visited "Wong Tai Sin Temple, the Bird & Flower Markets" and the Jade Market. Following the morning tour, we proceeded to the Hong Kong Airport and boarded Cathy Airlines for the trip to Bangkok, Thailand. Upon arrival at the Bangkok Airport we were bused to the Amari Watergate Hotel. SLIDE SHOW

Day 7. This was our first full day in Bangkok. We visited the "Jim Thompson House and Museum" and the Grand Palace. We had lunch at the Sorandang Restaurant and Bar. We returned to the hotel after shopping at the Gem's Gallery Internationl Showroom. The ladies had a ball with the men's credit cards. In the evening we dined at a Thai Restaurant on the river. This was the only rainy day that we had on the trip. SLIDE SHOW

Day 8. This day included a ride in a long boat to the "Damnoen Floating Market", a tour of the Royal Thai Handcraft Center and lunch at the Rose Garden. After lunch there was a Cultural Performance of Thai music and Dancing followed by an elephant dexterity show. SLIDE SHOW

Day 9. Today we traveled by bus to "Ayutthaya, Thailand" and visited the Summer Palace anda the Ayutthaya City ruins. We cruised on a river boat back to Bangkok. SLIDE SHOW

Day 10. This was a travel day to "Chiang Mai, Thailand". On the way to the Bangkok Airport we toured the Ziamnmel Grand Palace. We flew to Chiang Mai on Thai Airlines. We were bused to the Sheraton Chiangmai Hotel. There was a tour in the evening of the Chiang Mai Night Market. SLIDE SHOW

Day 11. This day was spent at the "Mae Saa Valley Craft Village" working on projects of paper making, painting on parasol, fan or ceramic items,batik dyeing and Thai cooking., The cooking class provided our lunch. The evening was spent at the Chiang Mai "Loy Kra Thong" celebration. Candles are floated on the river as fireworks are set off. SLIDE SHOW

Day 12. A few of the group got up early to view the feeding of the Monks. We departed for a tour of the "Mae Saa Elephant" camp. Most of the group rode Elephants. From the Elephant Camp we drove to the Lisu Hill Tribe Village for lunch and a performace of dancing by Lisu boys and girls. We also had a visit with a witch doctor. The next stop was the Orchid Farm. The evening dinner was at the hotel River Terrace Restaurant. SLIDE SHOW

Day 13. Today our group traveled from "Chiang Mai to Bangkok, Thialand" on Thai Airlines. In Bangkok we transfered to Air India and flew to Delhi, India. We met our local guide, Sonjay, and then bused to the Le Meridien Hotel. "SLIDE SHOW"

Day 14. This was a travel day by bus to Agra, India. We drove by "Delhi's India Gate", the India Government area and on to the SOS Children's Village. After lunch we toured the Sikanora Temple then drove on to Agra and checked into the Mughal Sheraton Hotel. SLIDE SHOW

Day 15. The days activities were: (1) "Tour of the Taj Mahal" (2) Visit to the Oswal Marble Emporium (3) Cooking lesson at Onli Restaurant (4) Visit to the Agra Fort (5) Afternoon tea with a local family (5) dinner at the Taj Bano Restaurant. SLIDE SHOW

Day 16. The day's activities were: (1) "Depart Agra for Jaipur, India" (2) Visit the Barara Farm Village (3) Visit Fatehpur Sikri, India (4) Lunch at a local restaurant (5) Arrive in Jaipur, India and check into the Sheraton Raiputana Place Hotel. SLIDE SHOW

Day 17. The day's activities were: (1) Lecture by Rajasthan University Professor (2) Visit to the "Amber Fort" (3) Visit downtown Jaipur to observe traffic patterns (4) Dinner at local restaurant. SLIDE SHOW

Day 18. Today we drive from "Jaipur to Delhi". On the way the group visited the Biria Temple. There was a photo stop at the Palace of the Winds. There was a visit to the Jantar Mantar Observatory and the City Palace. there was shopping at the Babu Bazaar. Lunch was at the Rambagh Palace Hotel. Upon arrival in Delhi we checked into the Le Meridien Hotel. SLIDE SHOW

Day 19. This day we visited the "Qutb Minar", the Kashmiri Cottage Industries, had lunch with a local family and visited the Sanskriti Arts Foundation. The group had dinner at the Golden phoenix Restaurant. SLIDE SHOW

Day 20. This day's activities were: (1) "Visit Old Delhi" (2) Photo stop at Red Fort (3) Rickshaw ride through Old Delhi (4) Visit the Jama Masjid Mosque (5) Visit Gandi Memorial (6) Visit Humayun's Tomb (7) Visit Gandi's Assassination Site (8) Farewell dinner with Sonjay at Pakwan Restaurant. Day 21. We were bused to the "Delhi" Airport for a ten hour flight to London, England on Air India Airlines. Upon arrival in London we were transferred to the Royal Horse Guard Hotel. SLIDE SHOW

Day 22. Peter, our local guide in London, took the group on a "Panoramic Tour of London". The tour included a visit to the Tower of London. In the evening a few of the group rode the London Eye Big Wheel. SLIDE SHOW

Day 23. Today Peter took the group on a tour of "Windsor Castle" which included the St. George Chapel and the State Apartments. The Crown Jewel's Farewell Dinner was held in the hotel restaurant. SLIDE SHOW

Day 24. The group was bused to the "London Heathrow Airport". We flew to New York's john F. Kennedy Airport on Air India Airlines. The froup split up for the indivisual flights home. Peggy and I flew American Airlines back to DFW then drove back to Bridgeport. thiss completed our Around The World Experience. SLIDE SHOW

		We (Royce & Peggy) have enjoyed traveling to different cities and countries throughout the world. These travels enticed us to join an Around The World Trip sponsored by The Vantage World Travel Agency. The Vantage World Travel Agency, located in Boston, scheduled this trip to begin on 7 November 2005 and end on 30 November 2005. This trip took us from Bridgeport to California, China, Thailand, India, England, New York and back to Bridgeport. Following is a brief day by day description of the trip with accompanying photographs. 	Day 1, 7 November 2005. We drove from "Bridgeport to DFW Airport" and took American Airlines to Los Angeles. In Los Angeles we boarded Cathay Airlines for our 15 hour flight to Hong Kong, China. SLIDE SHOW Day 2. We crossed the "International Date Line" and lost a day.. This day will return on the way home in late November. SLIDE SHOW Day 3.
